Listening to this conversation with Maddi brings me right back… to all the feels.
The interview was recorded exactly a week before my emergency surgery for my cyst rupturing… and it’s funny to think of how much I’ve changed since then and where I/we’ll go from here.
We talk about some personal stuff, some feeling stuff, and some big ideas. #theusual
<- is a clip from our talk!
And below is what Maddi wrote about our podcast conversation together…
EP20: LEARNING TO LISTEN: TAPPING INTO YOUR BODY’S WISDOM AND SAYING GOODBYE TO EGO WITH DEANNE VINCENT
Few people have more reason to distrust and dislike their body than Deanne,
After multiple surgeries, she’d be forgiven for feeling resentment towards that which has challenged her most.
And whilst she may have felt that resentment in the past, she now recognises the teacher her body was trying to be.
The lessons it was trying to teach about various parts of her life have been numerous and, today, she listens with an open ear and open heart for the wisdom it tries to bestow.
Often times, this wisdom has come at the cost of letting go of ego or leaning into suppressed emotions – no easy task.
This conversation could not have come at a better time for me.
To lean into that feeling of discomfort around the decisions we’ve been making around our big Freedom Adventure is disappointing and uncomfortable.
But, necessary.
So, I thank Deanne for being vulnerable with herself and with me in the #conversationlikenoother, both for her benefit, mine and (hopefully) yours.
ALL THE FEELS IN THIS EPISODE…
- The Body-Up approach and learning to tap into your body’s truth.
- What the Ego Death Journey is and why you may need to undertake an Ego-Breaking.
- A wicked awesome technique to release suppressed emotions.
- The four levels of competency and the challenges and gifts of moving through them.
- The damaging effect “hierarchy” can have on all parties in a relationship.
- A few other mentions:
- Better Than Before by Gretchen Rubin
