Here’s the way I see it:
You were given a job at birth.
It’s simultaneously the thing you’ve always known deep down and the thing you’ve always tried to suppress.
But you’re afraid to take this thing seriously and look silly. The silent, raised eyebrow chorus of “Who do they think they are?” will judge you as soon as you try, no doubt. It feels vulnerable to put yourself out there and do something you *really* care about because you might fail. And that’ll *really* hurt.
The truth is: there’s no way it’ll happen if you don’t try. You have to choose what life you want to live. One tiny step at a time towards your dreams.
And I promise you, you can handle whatever comes your way when you do.
As Paulo Coelho wrote in his book The Alchemist, “Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. And no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams, because every second of the search is a second’s encounter with God and with eternity.”
So stop denying it, stop questioning your truth and looking for a(nother) sign, and stop being cool about it.
Care.
Take it seriously.
Risk looking silly.
Accept your job, step into your truest self, and pour into your deepest dreams so you’re free, without any second thoughts or what if’s or doubts, to live into the outer edges of life and enjoy it.
Because the truth is, your thing is not going to go away. It hasn’t gone away yet, has it?
I see you.
Because you were born to do this job.
You were hired by God/The Universe/Spirit aka GUS (whatever you like to call that thing that’s bigger than all of us) to bring this thing in you to life. No one else can do it like you can do it.
It’s your responsibility to find out what it is and then do it so you can die in peace.
Because when it comes down to it, it’s really simple: accept your job or not.
But there’s no avoiding the work you were born to do. It’ll keep coming up again and again, calling, until you’re dead. You can choose whether to take it seriously now or 3 years from now or take it with you to your grave.
Once you accept this way, your life will open up beyond what you can possibly imagine.
Love and truth,
Always,
Deanne
